SXSW wrap up

Wow, what a great audience! (ala Jimmy from South Park)

We had a fantastic time in Austin. I'll actually be back this weekend for another conference. :-)

The drive at 2am from Austin to Houston was joyous. 290 east baby!!

Neil Young @ Friend's

Yesterday we participated in a Neil Young tribute show hosted by Berklee over at Friend's in downtown Austin. I think we rocked the place with our 17/8 rendition of Neil's "Don't let it Bring You Down." I was using a VK-7 organ, so it was a different sound for the band. We we able to really rock on the song and get loud!

Today we have 3 diferent sets! We came into the festival with just one set tonight and have manged to get two more sets for today. We play at the Elephant room at 9pm and 1am. We might also be doing a set at cafe caffiene (www.cafecaffiene.com) if we can get some back line!

March Madness

Well, we arrived last night in Austin at about 11:30pm. What a long drive from Houston. Kinda like Providence to New York, but no traffic.

We get to the airport, get on the shuttle to the car rental place, and find out that I rented the car at Houston Hobby instead of GB International. DOH!! But, with a phone in hand (my Treo 650) and my laptop, I was able to book a new car reservation the in lobby. Damn, the net is cool!

Anyway, eating breakfast right now in La Quinta waiting to go the our rehearsal at our friend Matt's house. We'll be playing a Berklee show this afternoon and get ready for our 2 shows at the Elephant room tomoorw night. We are doing an encore performance at 1am, then drive back to Houston to leave at 7:30am.

Well, we will be performing at SXSW this year. I am excited to be in Austin for the first time. I've had the chance to check out a lot of Texas, but not Austin.

We are playing at the Elephant Room on Saturday the 18th at 9pm. Come to the show and say hi!
